Making the Most Out of Your Trampoline

Making the Most Out of Your Trampoline

If you ever need a way to trick yourself into exercising, choose a trampoline! While you may think it’s just bouncing, there are many reasons why a trampoline is good for you. NASA has even conducted studies that rebounding (or jumping) is 68% more effective than jogging and requires a lot less effort.

Plus, playing outside in the summer has many benefits, both for kids and adults!

You can even get the benefits that come from weightlifting just by bouncing. So if you already have a trampoline that sits unused in your backyard or are considering purchasing one, C&C Courts is here to show you how to make the most out of your trampoline.

Health Benefits of Jumping Trampoline

There are tons of health benefits you can experience through jumping. You can improve your heart function and have an increased sense of vitality, to name a few. So let’s dive into some of the health benefits of jumping:

Balance & Coordination

Because of the nature of a trampoline, you must use many core muscles to keep yourself upright. You can develop a stronger sense of balance and awareness through jumping. You can also improve your arm and leg coordination.

When you are bouncing and making shapes with your body, like reaching for the sky, you move your body to account for the bounce. Over time, this will improve your overall balance and coordination.

Cardiovascular Health

Even though you’re having fun on a trampoline, it’s actually an intense aerobic activity. This means it has a positive effect on your heart. Bouncing increases your pulse and helps strengthen the muscles needed for a healthy cardiovascular system. Remember: you’re never too old or too young to care about your heart, so get bouncing!

Bone Density

Bouncing puts your bones under small amounts of stress, which is sufficient enough to help the bones rebuild themselves to cope with that stress. It’s a great way to keep away bone problems like osteoporosis. Jumping is also gentler on your joints than some other activities.

Muscles

If you’re worried about your muscles looking toned, then jump! Jumping can help tone your muscles and increase your strength and flexibility. It also helps decrease your risks of developing diseases like heart disease and diabetes. Jumping is a full-body workout and helps burn fat quickly.

Get a Safe Trampoline for All Seasons

If you were around trampolines when you were a kid, you likely remember the potential for broken bones. Falling off trampolines and unsafe games could cause any number of injuries to kids and adults. Fortunately, there is a much safer alternative.

Springfree® Trampolines from C&C Courts are an innovative way to get the same benefits as a typical trampoline but with higher safety standards.

By incorporating an innovative, spring-less design, our Springfree® Trampolines don’t have the heavy, metal springs that were hazards on traditional trampolines. Springfree® Trampolines are crafted with flexible composite rods, which eliminate common pinch points.

Our Springfree® Trampolines also come with a netted enclosure to help prevent falls. These trampolines can reduce 90% of product-related injuries, which gives you more peace of mind while your child is playing.

Games to Play on a Trampoline

Now that you know some of the health benefits of jumping on a trampoline, we’ll show you some games you can play to get those health benefits. You may even find yourself fighting your kids for some bounce time.

Ring Around the Rosy

To play this game, have everyone form a circle and hold hands. Then begin to walk in the same direction in a circle and sing the song:

‘Ring around the rosy, pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes, we all do a…’

The point now is to fill in the end of the song with a trampoline move, like a backdrop, seat drop, or roly-poly. Keep going until everyone has a turn!

Bouncing Air Catch

Using a tennis ball, you and your kids can play Bouncing Air Catch. Start with one person on the trampoline while everyone else stands around in a circle.

Someone outside the trampoline throws the ball as high as they can over the trampoline. The player inside needs to time their jump to catch it while in the air. Each ball successfully caught in the air is worth one point. First to ten wins!

Avoid the Poison Ball

Players take turns using the trampoline. Everyone else stands outside and at the same time, players throw balls into the enclosure. The player on the trampoline must avoid all the balls as much as possible.

The player is eliminated if they are touched by a ball, whether in the air or on the trampoline. Record each player’s time until they are out. The winner is the player with the longest bounce time.

Castle Attack

Castle Attack is similar to Poison Ball and is perfect for an extra hot summer day. Fill up a bunch of water balloons for this game.

Divide the players into two teams. The first team chooses someone to be the “king” or “queen.” They stay in the trampoline enclosure. The second team is the “attackers.” They throw the water balloons over the enclosure, trying to hit the player on the trampoline, who must dodge them all to win. Once the “king” or “queen” is hit three times, they’re out.

The last person to get a hit is now the “king” or “queen,” and the teams swap roles. The winner is the person who holds the longest time as “king” or “queen.”
